Since 2000, Stray From the Heart has been the salvation for over 1500 abused, neglected or homeless dogs. This nonprofit works with domestic and international rescue centers, as well as Animal Control of New York City, to rehabilitate stray dogs, and match them with the perfect owner. All adoptions come with a “no-questions-asked” return policy—if an owner is unable to care for the stray, the organization will keep searching until the right owner is found.
With thorough rehabilitation for the dogs, and a rigorous selection process for prospective owners, Stray From the Heart is committed to finding an owner for every dog, regardless of its background. Though most efforts are concentrated in New York, the organization has already established a partnership with Save a Sato and the Amigo Fiel Foundations, finding homes for over 130 dogs in Puerto Rico and Ecuador. Stray From the Heart is currently working towards partnerships in South America and India. The tireless volunteers who give long hours and their special skill sets to supporting this organization truly believe that there are no intrinsically “bad” dogs.
With its foundation built on the faithful bond between man and his best friend, Stray from the Heart works to end euthanasia in New York City. Corporate sponsors and individual efforts are always appreciated.
